Acadian Ambulance Service of Texas, LLC, has acquired Ameristat Ambulance in Central Texas. The purchase marks Acadian’s fourth acquisition in Texas this year.

Ameristat was established in 2014 and provides emergency and non-emergency medical transportation. The purchase will take effect Wednesday, Dec. 28.

“For 10 years, Acadian has proudly served Central Texas,” Regional Vice President Troy Mayer said. “We look forward to our latest addition and to adding Ameristat’s employees to our team.”

In June, Acadian purchased Bay Star EMS and East Texas Medical Center’s Pasadena operations. Earlier this month, the company announced the acquisition of Odyssey EMS in the Houston area.

Acadian, founded in 1971, is owned by its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The company expanded to Texas in 2006 and now serves millions of Texans in 37 counties and the Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas metro areas. Acadian is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, one of nine services in the state to hold the designation.
