Acadian Companies Chairman & CEO Richard Zuschlag has announced the appointment of respected business leader Jerome “Jerry” Greig to the company’s board of directors.

He joins Acadian’s current board members Zuschlag, Acadian Chief Financial Officer David Kelly, John Rester and Fred Mills. “We’re delighted to have someone with Jerry’s credentials and knowledge of the culture of Lafayette and our company join our board of directors to help navigate our company through the coming years,” Zuschlag said.

Greig is an accomplished business executive with substantial experience in energy, healthcare, technology, process improvement and operations. He recently retired as the chief information officer of Fugro Chance Inc., a member of the Netherlands-based Fugro NV. Prior to joining Fugro, Greig led systems development activities focused on natural gas marketing and transportation for Houston-based Tenneco.

Throughout his career, Greig has helped to create business value by leveraging technology innovation, driving alignment of IT investment with business strategy, increasing operational effectiveness while minimizing enterprise risk and delivering enhanced customer service experiences.

In 2013, Greig joined the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA) Board of Directors. He serves as chairman of the BCBSLA Compensation Committee, vice-chairman of the Investment and Finance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. He was recently recognized with the Board Leadership Fellow designation, the highest level of credentialing for corporate governance and leadership in the boardroom, by the National Association of Corporate Directors. In 2017, Greig was among the first directors nationally to complete the NACD Cyber-Risk Oversight Course, earning the NACD/CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight.

Greig is active in the Lafayette, Louisiana, community. He is a past chairman of the board of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Acadiana, St. Thomas More Catholic High School and the STM Foundation.

While Greig’s career in the oil and gas industry included assignments in Dallas and Houston, he currently resides in Lafayette with his wife, Nancy. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a master of science degree from Clemson University.

“Over the years I have observed Acadian Companies from afar and have admired their leadership team and reputation for excellence, growth, business diversity and community engagement. I am excited to join the Acadian board, and look forward to the opportunity to serve Acadian’s clients, employees and shareholders,” said Greig.
