Acadian brings a fleet of two ambulances dedicated to serving the county and its communities, with backup available from Acadian’s neighboring service areas during periods of high call volume.

Additional capabilities include a specialty care transport (SCT) ambulance staffed with SCT paramedics, advanced ventilatory equipment, and capability for full hemodynamic monitoring; and specialized ambulances equipped for bariatric patients.

Acadian will operate one station in Lucedale for crew members and supplies, in addition to ambulance posting points throughout the county to allow for efficient operations and rapid response times.

“We look forward to answering the call and caring for the residents of George County,” said Acadian Ambulance Regional Vice President Porter Taylor. “We’re proud to retain a local workforce, with some of our current crew members calling George County their home.”

Among those team members is Lucedale native and Paramedic Field Supervisor Conner Brown, who recently received Acadian Ambulance’s President’s Performance Award.

Brown joined Acadian’s team in Jackson County in 2025 after a previous EMS provider ceased operations in George County.

“The day Acadian Ambulance’s units drove up Highway 63 and parked in Lucedale was a great day for George County,” said Brown. “Acadian provides top-tier service with great equipment, and I’m proud to return home to serve my community.”

Damon Wilson serves as operations manager for George County. A native of Harrison County, Damon has been with Acadian Ambulance for 23 years and oversees operations across Louisiana’s Northshore and Mississippi’s Gulf Coast regions.

As part of its commitment to long-term staffing solutions, Acadian and its training division, the National EMS Academy, offer EMT classes. Local first-responding agencies are offered seats in these classes to boost their EMS capabilities.

“We are committed to supporting the local workforce through our employment and career opportunities, as well as contributing to local workforce development through our training opportunities,” said Acadian Senior Director of Staffing TJ Dronet.
