Acadian Ambulance Service of Texas, LLC, has acquired Ameristat Ambulance in Central Texas. The purchase marks Acadian’s fourth acquisition in Texas this year. Ameristat was established in 2014 and provides emergency and non-emergency medical transportation.
Acadian Ambulance Service of Texas, LLC, has acquired Odyssey EMS in Houston. Odyssey, which was established in 2003, provides Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, critical care, pediatric and bariatric transports.

The First Responder Award was presented to Acadian on behalf of their long-standing service and loyalty to the nearly 20,000 residents of Gautier, Mississippi. An appreciation dinner was also held for our staff and crew members.

A decade ago, Acadian became the 911 provider in Orange County as the result of a competitive bid. That was our first service area in Texas; since then, we have added 37 Texas counties and serve the Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin metro areas.

Acadian expands its service area in Texas with the acquisitions of Bay Star Ambulance and East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) EMS’ Pasadena operations. Serving the greater Houston metro area, Bay Star has provided outstanding emergency medical care to residents for more than 13 years. ETMC, the former 911 provider for the city of Pasadena, was the largest rural not-for-profit ambulance service in the state. These acquisitions have added more than 120 employees to our Houston operations.

Acadian Ambulance Service’s Southwest Louisiana region was honored for its commitment to safety during a ceremony in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
With service beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, the acquisition process for TLC Ambulance was complete. TLC, which is based in Dallas, provided medical transportation throughout Dallas County and was the EMS provider for Seagoville, which makes this our first 911 contract in North Texas. The purchase added 26 patients a day, 45 full-time employees and seven ambulances to our Texas operations.
Acadian Total Security was introduced to local business people and chamber members at the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Sept. 23, 2014. President Blane Comeaux spoke about Acadian’s rich 40-year history in the Houma/Terrebonne area through ambulance and monitoring services.

An employee of Lafayette General Medical Center went into early labor and her baby was delivered while vacationing in Florida. NEMSA has exceeded the National Average Pass Rate for EMT and paramedic graduates for the fourth consecutive year. Results released by the National Registry of EMTs revealed our EMT graduates earned 87 percent, while the national average was 79. Our paramedic graduates earned an 89 percent pass rating while the national average was 86. Through continuous refinement of our training curriculum and examination processes, NEMSA remains a leader in EMS education industry.

Safety Management Systems (SMS), a division of Acadian, has entered a public-private partnership with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies (NIMSAT), to provide training and services for all-hazards emergency preparedness.
A decade of education and growth was celebrated at the tenth anniversary of the National EMS Academy. Each year, NEMSA continues to exceed the national average pass rate for EMTs and paramedics. In 2012, NEMSA’s pass rate surpassed the national average for EMTs, 88 percent to 81 percent and paramedics 89 percent to 84 percent. With seven campuses in Louisiana and two in Texas, the Academy has trained almost 2 percent of all newly nationally registered paramedics in the nation and has produced 3,428 EMTs and 1,490 paramedics since 2003.

Acadian Ambulance Service was awarded a contract to provide 911 service in Live Oak County, Texas.
The University Health System unanimously extended Acadian’s Bexar County 911 for two years. UHS oversees EMS services for the unincorporated areas of the 800-square-mile county.
The facility, located in Coppell, noted Acadian’s willingness to participate in events, offer in-service training for employees, and provide a dedicated wheelchair van branded with the facility’s logo.
Acadian Ambulance Service received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s Seven Seals Award, which recognizes individuals, employers or organizations that have demonstrated leadership and initiative in their support of the men and women who serve our nation in the National Guard and Reserve. The Seven Seals award is the second-highest given by the state ESGR committee.
The company’s use of the fuel-efficient Sprinter ambulance earned the award in a “Going Green” competition sponsored by the San Antonio Business Journal.
The ladies received the national award from Michael Keeling during Acadian’s annual ESOP Meeting in May and their winning design was distributed nationwide to ESOP companies as the representative ESOP month poster for 2011.
Colonel Roy “Ike” Nomey of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented Patriot Awards and pinned Operations Managers Orlando Rolon and Joe Szush, Operations Supervisors Beau Andrepont and Justin Cox, and Coding and Department Center Manager Natalie Roberts. The award recognizes their extraordinary support of the National Guard and Reserves. All were nominated by their employees who are currently activated with the 256th Infantry Brigade.
Bestowed annually by the Acadiana Economic Development Council, the award recognizes a company that exemplifies entrepreneurship, innovation, great corporate culture and a strong regional spirit.
