Acadian Companies welcomes Martin Bech as General Counsel to its diverse family of services. Bech began his career in the New Orleans office of Phelps Dunbar and brings more than 20 years of extensive experience in oil & gas, SEC and NASDAQ regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, insurance coverage and risk management, corporate finance, commercial contracts, general business and human resources.

As General Counsel, Bech is responsible for the legal and compliance functions of Acadian’s six divisions, including contract review, legal research, employment law, acquisition strategies and HIPAA compliance. He also works with Acadian’s IT team to advise on information security matters.

He has been a member of the Board of Trustees for Ochsner Lafayette General Health System for more than seven years and was a member of the executive committee responsible for working with management to negotiate the system’s merger with the Ochsner Health System.

Bech holds two bachelor degrees from LSU, one in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations and a second in French. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University College of Law. He is fluent in French and proficient in Russian and Italian, and has studied abroad in Paris as well as worked for the Consulate General of France in New Orleans.
