Acadian Companies Chief Executive Officer H. Eddy Dupuis announced that Vice President & General Counsel Martin Bech has been promoted to Senior Vice President and appointed to Acadian’s Executive Committee.

He will retain the position of General Counsel and will lead the corporate legal functions of Acadian’s eight divisions, including contracts, insurance, litigation, risk management, and acquisition strategies.

Bech’s appointment allows Executive Vice President Allyson Pharr to further strengthen Acadian’s governmental relations efforts and compliance oversight. She will now serve as Acadian Companies’ Executive Vice President & Chief Governmental and Regulatory Affairs Officer. Pharr is also a member of Acadian’s Executive Committee.

Bech joined Acadian as General Counsel in 2021 and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, SEC regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, insurance coverage and risk management, corporate finance and general business and human resources law. Bech was active in the healthcare industry having served for over nine years on the Board of Trustees of the Lafayette General Health System and he currently sits on the Board of Directors of OneAcadiana.

Bech holds two bachelor’s degrees from LSU, one in Political Science with a concentration on International Relations and a second in French. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans.  He began his legal career in the New Orleans office of Phelps Dunbar and, prior to joining Acadian, held executive roles in a publicly-traded company and several privately-held companies in Louisiana.

Pharr, commenting on the change, said, “Martin is a very skilled attorney and an effective leader. During his time as our General Counsel, he has been an integral part of Acadian’s success and I am confident that he will continue to elevate this role with his expertise. This shift will also allow me to expand my outreach on policy and regulatory matters and further strengthen our internal and external capabilities, opportunities and presence.”

Dupuis added, “Martin’s appointment to the executive committee is a testament to the strategic value of his extensive experience. His command of these functions and  invaluable legal knowledge will continue to guide our overall strategy and growth.”
