Mark Dupont dedicated 40 years to Acadian Ambulance, serving communities across St. Landry, Evangeline, Pointe Coupee, and Lafayette parishes. During his career, he was a Critical Care Paramedic on Unit 55 in Opelousas, briefly served as a Hub City District supervisor, and was named Paramedic of the Year in 1995.
Today, Mark works part-time as an investigator at the St. Landry’s Coroner’s Office. Outside of work, he enjoys camping with his wife, canoeing, traveling, and tackling projects at his home and his children’s homes.
Reflecting on his time at Acadian, Mark said, “The best parts of the job were helping people in times of need.” He values the many experiences and friendships he formed over the years.
For those just starting their careers, his advice is to stick with it because, while there will be many highs and lows, it will be worth it.
Through the Acadian Alumni Association, Mark looks forward to staying connected with former colleagues and maintaining the connections he’s built over a long and meaningful career.
