Acadian Ambulance Service is expanding its Mississippi operations to George County. The expansion comes as the result of a competitive bid process for 911 emergency response services. The transition from the current provider to Acadian is expected to be effective no later than October 17, 2026.
Acadian Ambulance has operated in Mississippi since 2000, when it began providing service to Jackson County. In 2024, Acadian began providing service to Harrison County and the cities of D’Iberville, Long Beach and Pass Christian.
“While we are proud of our reach and depth, we are also proud to be local. As the EMS provider to Jackson County for the past 25 years, Acadian has a direct connection to George County. 14 of our current team members live in George County and are looking forward to providing service in their home region,” said Acadian Ambulance President Justin Back.
Acadian will provide emergency and non-emergency advanced life support (ALS) service. Acadian’s operations in neighboring Jackson County can provide direct backup service in the event of extremely high call volume.
