August 27, 2024 — As the result of a competitive bid process for 911 emergency response services, Acadian Ambulance Texas was selected to continue providing emergency and non-emergency services to the City of Orange, TX.
Acadian has served as the sole provider of 911 emergency response services in Orange since 2006, with its contract renewing every three years. The new contract is effective November 1, 2024.
“June 15, 2006 is a very special day for Acadian Ambulance Service of Texas, and forever a treasured day in our company’s history,” said Acadian Regional Vice President Jay Lewis. “It is the day we began service in Texas by way of serving the citizens of Orange. We have truly enjoyed our working partnership over these last 18 years, as well as the deep ties to community, service, and family that have developed over those years.”
Acadian’s service in the Southeast Texas market includes dedicated 911 contracts and non-emergency services for all of the hospital systems and healthcare facilities. Acadian also works closely with other local jurisdictions to provide service. The company has more than 40 mainline and reserve ambulances and employs over 300 people in the region. Acadian maintains a crew station within the city limits, which was previously located at Baptist Hospital and has recently moved to a building on Green Avenue.
“We appreciate Acadian’s continued partnership and the quality of service they have provided over the years,” said City of Orange Deputy Fire Chief/EMC Payton Smith.
