At the Acadian Companies annual meeting, Safety Management Systems President Scott Domingue recognized Safety Specialist Gabe Armand as its 2024 Employee of the Year.
Armand joined SMS in 2001 as part of the company’s Attract, Recruit, and Deploy program, which was designed to train new safety professionals. Since then, Armand has showcased exceptional dedication and skill in his role, particularly in supporting one of the company’s major clients, Shell, in the Gulf of Mexico.
Armand’s offshore career with Shell began on the Mars platform, where he spent three years before transitioning to work on Auger. As the SE Operations Lead on Auger, Armand has consistently demonstrated his commitment to safety and excellence, earning accolades from Shell leadership, SMS management, and his peers.
Prior to his offshore endeavors, Armand was an integral part of Shell’s operations in the Haynesville Shale, Texas and in Pennsylvania. His outstanding performance during his time in Pennsylvania earned him Shell’s prestigious Goal Zero Hero award, further highlighting his dedication to safety and operational excellence.
“Throughout his tenure at SMS, Gabe has exemplified leadership by mentoring new employees, fostering teamwork, and delivering top-notch safety services to Shell,” said SMS President Scott Domingue. “His contributions have not gone unnoticed, as he has been consistently recognized by Shell’s management and his colleagues for his outstanding performance and dedication to safety.”
Armand is a resident of Broussard, LA, with his wife, Stacey, and their son, Rhysen.
“We are incredibly proud to honor Gabe Armand as our 2024 SMS Employee of the Year,” Domingue continued. “His unwavering commitment to safety, exceptional leadership, and dedication to excellence embody the values we cherish at SMS.
