Ann Montanio has been named as the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle at Acadian Companies, overseeing all billing and collection functions, insurance verification, coding, utilization management, and the Acadian Transport Assistance Center (ATAC). Her focus is on optimizing cash flow, reducing patient accounts receivable, and minimizing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), all of which directly contribute to the company’s financial performance.
Montanio’s career began after she earned a B.S. in Quantitative Business Analysis from Louisiana State University (LSU) and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Her strong financial skills led her to move to the Controller’s department at Exxon, and it was during her shift to healthcare that she discovered revenue cycle management. Over the last 20 years, Montanio has built a successful career in this field, combining her IT and financial expertise.
She has held leadership positions at organizations like HCA, where she worked in home health and hospice administration, and CHRISTUS Health, where she spent 12 years in various roles. Montanio also served at the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) for 11 years, further refining her expertise.
As Acadian’s Senior Director of Revenue Cycle, she plays a major role in the overall success of the company, “If I am successful in my role, the company will see a reduction in patient accounts receivable, improvement in cash flow, and reduction in DSO, which all affect our stock price,” said Montanio.
Throughout her career, she has been notably recognized for participating in the CHRISTUS Academy leadership program. She has also spoken at the Experian National Conference and the HFMA Louisiana Conference.
Montanio finds this is a rewarding role because she is “able to positively impact the bottom line of the facilities at which I have worked and being able to mentor multiple individuals over the years and see them promoted through the ranks.”
