The Southwest Chapter of The ESOP Association has named Acadian Ambulance ATAC Supervisor Tashia Swinton as its 2021 Employee-Owner of the Year. The Southwest Chapter is made up of more than 170 ESOP companies and professional service providers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Swinton joined Acadian in 2013 as a member of Acadian Monitoring Service’s alarm monitoring center before transferring to the Acadian Transport Assistance Center, which handles all non-emergency transport scheduling. She has served on Acadian’s ESOP Committee for six years, the last three as the committee’s vice chair and chairperson.

Despite a difficult and unpredictable 2020, a year in which Swinton also accepted a job promotion with more responsibility, she kept the ESOP Committee going with virtual events and continuous communication.

“Congratulations on this honor, Tashia, and thank you for your role in educating the Acadian team about the benefits of ESOP and for promoting our ESOP culture,” said Acadian Chairman & CEO Richard Zuschlag.

Acadian instituted an ESOP in 1993, giving employees the opportunity to own private shares in the company. Its employees currently own approximately 80% of Acadian stock.
