At the Acadian Companies virtual annual meeting, Quality Improvement Coordinator (QIC) Mike Burley was recognized as the support department employee of the year. He was presented with his award by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chuck Burnell.

Acadian’s support departments assist all six divisions, and the winner is chosen from Acadian Client Services, accounting/payroll/payables, electronics, executive assistants, facility maintenance, fleet maintenance, IT, materials management, runners, legal/risk management, mobile health, quality improvement, HSE, wellness and marketing/public relations.

Burley is a native of Youngsville, Louisiana, and has been with Acadian for 13 years. He oversees quality improvement initiatives in Acadian’s Hub City service area and is the company’s subject-matter expert for the ePCR and Health EMS patient care report software used by medics throughout Acadian’s service area.

He routinely works with other departments to create enhancements to our ePCR system in order to provide better medical record data. At the outset of Acadian’s COVID-19 response, Burley assisted with developing protocol revisions and staffed the company’s emergency response operations center. He is also one of the primary instructors for Acadian’s new Treat In Place/Alternative Destination Transport initiative.

“Mike’s work provides an invaluable service to our medics, IT, QI and safety teams, our Coding and Documentation Center and more. He is very much a team player and I am truly blessed to have him on my team,” said Director of Quality Improvement Mark Fryou.

Since 1971, Acadian Companies has been dedicated to providing the highest level of emergency medical care and transportation possible. The company has expanded to include a diverse suite of services designed to offer the very best support and education in health, safety, security, education and transportation.
