At the Acadian Companies virtual annual meeting, Safety Management Systems (SMS) Billing Team Lead Sheree Morvant was recognized as the company’s Employee-Owner of the Year.

Morvant, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been with SMS for 11 years. She has worked on many projects and always strives to be conservative with spending company funds and finding ways to save.

Morvant has been an active member of Acadian’s ESOP Committee for two years. She promotes ESOP within the company by educating employees on the benefits of ESOP participation. She personally reaches out to the newly eligible employees in her area to schedule one-on-one time to discuss the benefits of investing in their future. She engages her SMS coworkers to participate in company-wide ESOP events. For Acadian’s annual Battle for the Paddle company cook-off, Morvant has led her SMS team to win seven paddle awards for best ESOP-themed booth decorations.

In 2019, she organized Acadian’s ESOP social and received high praise for contributing to its success.

“We believe Sheree is an excellent choice for Employee-Owner of the Year because she embodies the ESOP spirit by working hard and being dedicated to helping our employee-owners and their communities get the greatest benefit possible,” said Acadian Companies ESOP Committee Chair Tashia Swinton.

Acadian instituted an ESOP in 1993, giving employees the opportunity to own private shares in the company. Its employees currently own approximately 80% of Acadian stock.

Since 1971, Acadian Companies has been dedicated to providing the highest level of emergency medical care and transportation possible. The company has expanded to include a diverse suite of services designed to offer the very best support and education in health, safety, security, education and transportation.
