A former EMT Basic, Cherie Aucoin served her community with Acadian Ambulance. She dedicated her time at Acadian to serving the Baton Rouge and Plaquemine communities, working alongside her paramedic partner to provide emergency and non-emergency care. As a Plaquemine native, she took pride in offering high-quality care to familiar faces in their times of need. In recognition of her dedication to Acadian, she was even nominated for Employee of the Year.

After her time in the ambulance, Cherie pursued further education and found a passion in ultrasound. She now works as a sonographer in Morgan City, where she provides compassionate care to her patients—sometimes even shedding tears with them in both moments of joy and heartbreak.

Outside of work, Cherie enjoys spending time with her husband Jarrod, daughter Adelaide, and their dachshund, Dexter. She’s also an avid photographer who loves capturing the beauty of South Louisiana, especially from the water.

Her favorite memory at Acadian is riding the ferry with Aaron Webb from Plaquemine to St. Gabriel when Dean Landry playfully criticized her for riding with his former partner.

Cherie also shares this valuable advice for new Acadian employees:

“Always try to treat your patients as if they are a friend or family. You will never go wrong by doing that.”

Her dedication to helping others, both during her time in the ambulance and in her career today, reflects Acadian values. She looks forward to staying connected through the Acadian Alumni Association, enjoying the camaraderie, and sharing great memories with fellow alumni.
